Volume II

Aelaan, Hamd and Dua

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Yaqub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)), and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam)”.

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah Verse 136

Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return”. They are those on whom are the Salawat (blessings) (i.e., who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones.

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah Verses 156-157

So, when you have accomplished your Manasik, remember Allah as you remember your forefathers or with a far more remembrance. But of mankind there are some who say: “Our Lord! Give us (Your Bounties) in this world!” and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter. And of them there are some who say: “Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!” For them there will be allotted a share for what they have earned. And Allah is Swift at reckoning.

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah Verses 200-202

Then when Talut (Saul) set out with the army, he said: “Verily! Allah will try you by a river. So, whoever drinks thereof, he is not of me, and whoever tastes it not, he is of me, except him who takes (thereof) in the hollow of his hand”. Yet, they drank thereof, all, except a few of them. So, when he had crossed it (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: “We have no power this day against Jalut (Goliath) and his hosts”. But those who knew with certainty that they were to meet their Lord, said: “How often a small group overcame a mighty host by Allah’s Leave?” And Allah is with As-Sabirun (the patient ones). And when they advanced to meet Jalut (Goliath) and his forces, they invoked: “Our Lord! Pour forth on us patience and make us victorious over the disbelieving people”.

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah Verses 249-250

Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Patron, Supporter and Protector) and give us victory over the disbelieving people”.

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah Verse 286

(Those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say): “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower. Our Lord! Verily, it is You Who will gather mankind together on the Day about which there is no doubt. Verily, Allah never breaks His Promise”.

Surah 3 Al-Imran Verses 8-9

Those who say: “Our Lord! We have indeed believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire”. (They are) those who are patient ones, those who are true (in Faith, words, and deeds), and obedient with sincere devotion in worship to Allah. Those who spend (give the Zakat and alms in the Way of Allah) and those who pray and beg Allah’s Pardon in the last hours of the night.

Surah 3 Al-Imran Verses 16-17

Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with honour whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things. You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night (i.e., increase and decrease in the hours of the night and the day during winter and summer), You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account)”.

Surah 3 Al-Imran Verses 26-27

And believe no one except the one who follows your religion. Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “Verily! Right guidance is the Guidance of Allah” and do not believe that anyone can receive like that which you have received (of Revelation) except when he follows your religion, otherwise they would engage you in argument before your Lord. Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “All the bounty is in the Hand of Allah; He grants to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures needs, the All-Knower”.

Surah 3 Al-Imran Verse 73

And many a Prophet (i.e., many from amongst the Prophets) fought (in Allah’s Cause) and along with him (fought) large bands of religious learned men. But they never lost heart for that which did befall them in Allah’s Way, nor did they weaken nor degrade themselves. And Allah loves As-Sabirun (the patient ones). And they said nothing but: “Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk”. So, Allah gave them the reward of this world, and the excellent reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).

Surah 3 Al-Imran Verses 146-148

Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced him, and never will the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) find any helpers. Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muhammad, pbuh) calling to Faith: Believe in your Lord, and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness along with Al-Abrar (those who are obedient to Allah and follow strictly His Orders). Our Lord! Grant us what You promised unto us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise”. So, their Lord accepted of them (their supplication and answered them), “Never will I allow to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female. You are (members) one of another, so those who emigrated and were driven out from their homes, and suffered harm in My Cause, and who fought, and were killed (in My Cause), verily, I will remit from them their evil deeds and admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise); a reward from Allah, and with Allah is the best of rewards”.

Surah 3 Al-Imran Verses 191-195

Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists). He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims”.

Surah 6 Al-Anam Verses 162-163

And he [Shaitan (Satan)] swore by Allah to them both (Adam and Eve) (saying): “Verily, I am one of the sincere well-wishers for you both”. So, he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to stick together the leaves of Paradise over themselves (in order to cover their shame). And their Lord called out to them (saying): “Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily, Shaitan (Satan) is an open enemy unto you?”. They said: “Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers”.

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verses 21-23

But those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and worked righteousness - We tax not any person beyond his scope, such are the dwellers of Paradise. They will abide therein. And We shall remove from their breasts any (mutual) hatred or sense of injury (which they had, if at all, in the life of this world); rivers flowing under them, and they will say: “All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has guided us to this, never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allah had guided us! Indeed, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth”. And it will be cried out to them: “This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do”.

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verses 42-43

And when their eyes will be turned towards the dwellers of the Fire, they (the people on Al-Araf – a wall with elevated places overlooking Paradise and Hell) will say: “Our Lord! Place us not with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers)”.

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verse 47

Firaun (Pharaoh) said: “You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all”. They (the sorcerers who got defeated by Musa) said: “Verily, we are returning to our Lord. And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, signs) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims”.

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verses 123-126

And the people of Musa (Moses) made in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of a calf (for worship). It had a sound (as if it was mooing). Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to the way? They took it for worship and they were Zalimun (wrong-doers). And when they regretted and saw that they had gone astray, they (repented and) said: “If our Lord have not mercy upon us and forgive us, we shall certainly be of the losers”.

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verses 148-149

And Musa (Moses) chose out of his people seventy (of the best) men for Our appointed time and place of meeting, and when they were seized with a violent earthquake, he said: “O my Lord, if it had been Your Will, You could have destroyed them and me before; would You destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? It is only Your Trial by which You lead astray whom You will, and keep guided whom You will. You are our Wali (Protector), so forgive us and have Mercy on us, for You are the Best of those who forgive. And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly, we have turned unto You”. He said: (As to) My Punishment I afflict therewith whom I will and My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who are the Muttaqun (pious), and give Zakat; and those who believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs).

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verses 155-156

Have they feet wherewith they walk? Or have they hands wherewith they hold? Or have they eyes wherewith they see? Or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “Call your (so-called) partners (of Allah) and then plot against me, and give me no respite! Verily, my Wali (Protector, Supporter, Helper) is Allah Who has revealed the Book (the Quran), and He protects (supports and helps) the righteous. And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allah) cannot help you nor can they help themselves”.

Surah 7 Al-Araf Verses 195-197

And among them is he who says: “Grant me leave (to be exempted from fighting in the way of Allah) and put me not into trial”. Surely, they have fallen into trial. And verily, Hell is surrounding the disbelievers. If good befalls you (O Muhammad, pbuh), it grieves them, but if a calamity overtakes you, they say: “We took our precaution beforehand”, and they turn away rejoicing. Say: “Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector)”. And in Allah let the believers put their trust.

Surah 9 At-Taubah Verses 49-51

Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad, pbuh) from amongst yourselves (i.e., whom you know well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He (Muhammad, pbuh) is anxious over you (to be rightly guided, to repent to Allah, and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins, in order that you may enter Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire), for the believers (he, pbuh, is) full of pity, kind, and merciful. But if they turn away, say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “Allah is sufficient for me. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne”.

Surah 9 At-Taubah Verses 128-129

And Musa (Moses) said: “O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allah’s Will)”. They said: “In Allah we put our trust. Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing) (i.e. do not make them overpower us). And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk”.

Surah 10 Yunus Verses 84-86

They said: “O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Yusuf (Joseph) by our belongings and a wolf devoured him; but you will never believe us even when we speak the truth”. And they brought his shirt stained with false blood. He [Yaqoob (Jacob)] said: “Nay, but your own selves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert”.

Surah 12 Yusuf Verses 17-18

[Then Yusuf (Joseph) said: “I asked for this enquiry] in order that he (Al-Aziz) may know that I betrayed him not in secret. And, verily! Allah guides not the plot of the betrayers. And I free not myself (from the blame). Verily, the (human) self is inclined to evil, except when my Lord bestows His Mercy (upon whom He wills). Verily, my Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful”.

Surah 12 Yusuf Verses 52-53

Thus, have We sent you (O Muhammad, pbuh) to a community before whom other communities have passed away, in order that you might recite unto them what We have inspired to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Beneficent (Allah) Say: “He is my Lord! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! In Him is my trust, and to Him will be my return with repentance”.

Surah 13 Ar-Rad Verse 30

Those to whom We have given the Book (such as Abdullah bin Salam and other Jews who embraced Islam), rejoice at what has been revealed unto you (i.e., the Quran), but there are among the Confederates (from the Jews and pagans) those who reject a part thereof. Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “I am commanded only to worship Allah (Alone) and not to join partners with Him. To Him (Alone) I call and to Him is my return”.

Surah 13 Ar-Rad Verse 36

[Ibrahim (Abraham) said:] “O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation. Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established”.

Surah 14 Ibrahim Verses 40-41

[Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: “And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?”

Surah 15 Al-Hijr Verse 56

And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: “My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small”.

Surah 17 Al-Isra Verses 23-24

And say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “My Lord! Let my entry (to the city of Al-Madinah) be good, and likewise my exit (from the city of Makkah) be good. And grant me from You an authority to help me (or a firm sign or a proof)”. And say: “Truth (i.e., Islamic Monotheism or this Quran) has come and Batil (falsehood, i.e., Satan or polytheism) has vanished. Surely! Batil is ever bound to vanish”.

Surah 17 Al-Isra Verses 80-81

And We made their hearts firm and strong (with the light of Faith in Allah and bestowed upon them patience to bear the separation of their kith and kin and dwellings, etc.) when they (the people of the Cave) stood up and said: “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, never shall we call upon any ilah (god) other than Him; if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity in disbelief”.

Surah 18 Al-Kahf Verse 14

And never say of anything, “I shall do such and such thing tomorrow”. Except (with the saying), “If Allah will!” And remember your Lord when you forget and say: “It may be that my Lord guides me unto a nearer way of truth than this”.

Surah 18 Al-Kahf Verses 23-24

[Allah said to Musa:] “Go to Firaun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)”. [Musa (Moses)] said: “O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). And ease my task for me; And make loose the knot from my tongue, (i.e., remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. That they understand my speech; And appoint for me a helper from my family; Haroon (Aaron), my brother; Increase my strength with him; And let him share my task (of conveying Allah’s Message and Prophethood); That we may glorify You much; And remember You much; Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer”.

Surah 20 Ta Ha Verses 24-35

And thus, We have sent it down as a Quran in Arabic, and have explained therein in detail the warnings, in order that they may fear Allah, or that it may cause them to have a lesson from it (or to have the honour for believing and acting on its teachings). Then High above all be Allah, the True King. And be not in haste (O Muhammad, pbuh) with the Quran before its revelation is completed to you, and say: “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge”.

Surah 20 Ta Ha Verses 113-114

And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: “Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy”. So, We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all who worship Us.

Surah 21 Al-Anbiya Verses 83-84

And (remember) Dhun-Nun [Yunus (Jonah)], when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him! But he cried through the darkness (saying): “La ilaha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers”. So, We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers.

Surah 21 Al-Anbiya Verses 87-88

Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best-Acquainted with the things they (those who disbelieve in the Hereafter) utter. And say: “My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me”.

Surah 23 Al-Muminun Verses 96-98

Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: “Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!”. But you (the disbelievers who are now in Hell) took them for a laughing stock, so much so that they made you forget My Remembrance while you used to laugh at them! Verily! I have rewarded them this Day for their patience, they are indeed the ones that are successful.

Surah 23 Al-Muminun verses 109-111

And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (disbelievers, polytheists, idolaters) will not be successful. And say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!

Surah 23 Al-Muminun Verses 117-118

The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allah (His Words, the Quran) and His Messenger (pbuh), to judge between them, is that they say: “We hear and we obey”. And such are the prosperous ones (who will live forever in Paradise).

Surah 24 An-Nur Verse 51

And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness. And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing. And those who say: “Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily! Its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment”. Evil indeed it (Hell) is as an abode and as a place to dwell.

Surah 25 Al-Furqan Verses 63-66

And those who say: “Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun (pious)”. Those will be rewarded with the highest place (in Paradise) because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect.

Surah 25 Al-Furqan Verses 74-75

And indeed, We gave knowledge to Dawud (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), and they both said: “All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves!”

Surah 27 An-Naml Verse 15

Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: “O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulaiman (Solomon) and his hosts crush you, while they perceive not”. So, he (Sulaiman) smiled, amused at her speech and said: “My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves”.

Surah 27 An-Naml Verses 18-19

And he entered the city at a time of unawareness of its people, and he found there two men fighting - one of his party (his religion - from the Children of Israel), and the other of his foes. The man of his (own) party asked him for help against his foe, so Musa (Moses) struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: “This is of Shaitans (Satan) doing, verily, he is a plain misleading enemy”. He said: “My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me”. Then He forgave him. Verily, He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Surah 28 Al-Qasas Verses 15-16

And there came a man running, from the farthest end of the city. He said: “O Musa (Moses)! Verily, the chiefs are taking counsel together about you, to kill you, so escape. Truly, I am to you of those who give sincere advice”. So, he escaped from there, looking about in a state of fear. He said: “My Lord! Save me from the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)!” And when he went towards (the land of) Madyan (Midian) he said: “It may be that my Lord guides me to the Right Way”.

Surah 28 Al-Qasas Verses 20-22

And when he arrived at the water of Madyan (Midian) he found there a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks). He said: “What is the matter with you?” They said: “We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take (their flocks). And our father is a very old man”. So, he watered (their flocks) for them, then he turned back to shade, and said: “My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!

Surah 28 Al-Qasas Verses 23-24

And when they (the believers) hear Al Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk), they withdraw from it and say: “To us our deeds, and to you your deeds. Peace be to you. We seek not the ignorant”.

Surah 28 Al-Qasas Verse 55

Say (to them O Muhammad, pbuh): “Sufficient is Allah for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth”. And those who believe in Batil (all false deities other than Allah), and disbelieve in Allah (and in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers.

Surah 29 Al-Ankabut Verse 52

And remember Our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): “Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)!” (Allah said to him): “Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink”.

Surah 38 Sad Verses 41-42

Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “I have been forbidden to worship those whom you worship besides Allah, since there have come to me evidences from my Lord, and I am commanded to submit (in Islam) to the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)”.

Surah 40 Ghafir Verse 66

And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride; In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: “Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!”

Surah 43 Az-Zukhruf Verses 12-14

And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship and she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: “My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will)”.

Surah 46 Al-Ahqaf Verse 15

Indeed, there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: “Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone”, except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: “Verily, I will ask for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allah”. “Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return. Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the disbelievers, and forgive us, Our Lord! Verily, You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise”.

Surah 60 Al-Mumtahanah Verses 4-5

[And Nuh (Noah) said:] “My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women. And to the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, and disbelievers) grant You no increase but destruction!
