Come to Know / Will Know / Shall Know
Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “He has power to send torment on you from above you or from under your feet, or to cover you with confusion in party strife, and make you to taste the violence of one another”. See how variously We explain the Ayat (proofs, signs, evidences) so that these may understand. But your people have denied it (the Quran) though it is the truth. Say: “I am not a Wakil (guardian) over you”. For every news there is a reality and you will come to know.
Surah 6 Al-Anam Verses 65-67
Surely, that which you are promised will verily come to pass, and you cannot escape (from the punishment of Allah). Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “O my people! Work according to your way, surely, I too am working (in my way), and you will come to know for which of us will be the (happy) end in the Hereafter. Certainly, the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) will not be successful”.
Surah 6 Al-Anam Verses 134-135
And the Day whereon We shall gather them all together, then We shall say to those who did set partners in worship with Us: “Stop at your place! You and your partners (whom you had worshipped in the worldly life)”. Then We shall separate them, and their (Allah’s so-called) partners shall say: “It was not us that you used to worship. So sufficient is Allah as a witness between us and you that we indeed knew nothing of your worship of us”. There! Every person will know (exactly) what he had earned before and they will be brought back to Allah, their rightful Maula (Lord), and their invented false deities will vanish from them.
Surah 10 Yunus Verses 28-30
And as he [Nuh (Noah)] was constructing the ship, whenever the chiefs of his people passed by him, they mocked at him. He said: “If you mock at us, so do we mock at you likewise for your mocking. And you will know who it is on whom will come a torment that will cover him with disgrace and on whom will fall a lasting torment”.
Surah 11 Hud Verses 38-39
[Shuaib said:] “And O my people! Act according to your ability and way, and I am acting (on my way). You will come to know who it is on whom descends the torment that will cover him with ignominy, and who is a liar! And watch you! Verily, I too am watching with you”. And when Our Commandment came, We saved Shuaib and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us. And As-Saihah (torment—awful cry) seized the wrong-doers, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes.
Surah 11 Hud Verses 93-94
See they not that We gradually reduce the land (of the disbelievers, in war victories) from its outlying borders. And Allah judges, there is none to put back His Judgement and He is Swift at reckoning. And verily, those before them did devise plots, but all planning is Allah’s. He knows what every person earns, and the disbelievers will know who gets the good end (final destination).
Surah 13 Ar-Rad Verses 41-42
How much would those who disbelieved wish that they had been Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam i.e., Islamic Monotheism — this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!
Surah 15 Al-Hijr Verses 2-3
So, by your Lord, (O Muhammad, pbuh), We shall certainly call all of them to account. For all that they used to do. Therefore, proclaim openly (Allah's Message of Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers). Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers; Who set up along with Allah another ilah (Allah); but they will come to know.
Surah 15 Al-Hijr Verses 92-96
And whatever of blessings and good things you have, it is from Allah. Then, when harm touches you, unto Him you cry aloud for help. Then, when He has removed the harm from you, behold! some of you associate others in worship with their Lord (Allah). So (as a result of that) they deny (with ungratefulness) that (Allah's Favors) which We have bestowed on them! Then enjoy yourselves (your short stay), but you will come to know (with regrets).
Surah 16 An-Nahl Verses 53-55
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, who have a hard life): “Which of the two groups (i.e., believers or disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)”. And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance? Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): whoever is in error, the Most Gracious (Allah) will extend (the rope) to him, until, when they see that which they were promised, either the torment or the Hour, they will come to know who is worst in position, and who is weaker in forces.
Surah 19 Maryam Verses 73-75
They (disbelievers of Makkah) say: “Why does he not bring us a sign (proof) from his Lord?” Has there not come to them the proof of that which is (written) in the former papers (Scriptures, about the coming of Prophet Muhammad, pbuh). And if We had destroyed them with a torment before this (i.e., Messenger Muhammad, pbuh and the Quran), they would surely have said: “Our Lord! If only You had sent us a Messenger, we should certainly have followed Your Ayat (proofs, evidences, signs), before we were humiliated and disgraced”. Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “Each one (believer and disbeliever) is waiting, so wait you too; and you shall know who are they that are on the Straight and Even Path (i.e., Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism), and who are they that have let themselves be guided (on the Right Path)”.
Surah 20 Ta-Ha Verses 133-135
Verily, those who accuse believing chaste women, who never even think of anything touching their chastity and are good believers – are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter, and for them will be a great torment – On the Day when their tongues, their hands, and their legs (or feet) will bear witness against them as to what they used to do. On that Day Allah will pay them the recompense of their deeds in full, and they will know that Allah, He is the Manifest Truth.
Surah 24 An-Nur Verse 23-25
And when they see you (O Muhammad, pbuh), they treat you only in mockery (saying): “Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a Messenger? He would have nearly misled us from our alihah (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!” And they will know, when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path!
Surah 25 Al-Furqan Verses 41-42
As for the poets, the erring ones follow them; See you not that they speak about every subject (praising people — right or wrong) in their poetry? And that they say what they do not do. Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged [by replying back in poetry to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims)]. And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned.
Surah 26 Ash-Shuara Verses 224-227
And (remember) the Day when He (Allah) will call to them (those who worshipped others along with Allah), and will say: “Where are My (so-called) partners, whom you used to assert?” and We shall take out from every nation a witness, and We shall say: “Bring your proof”. Then they shall know that the truth is with Allah (Alone), and the lies (false gods) which they invented will disappear from them.
Surah 28 Al-Qasas Verses 74-75
And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only: but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others. So that they become ingrate for that which We have given them, and that they take their enjoyment (of this life), but they will come to know.
Surah 29 Al-Ankabut Verses 65-66
And when harm touches men, they cry sincerely only to their Lord (Allah), turning to Him in repentance; but when He gives them a taste of His Mercy, behold, a party of them associates partners in worship with their Lord. So as to be ungrateful for the graces which We have bestowed on them. Then enjoy (your short life); but you will come to know.
Surah 30 Ar-Rum Verses 33-34
And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say: “If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, as a Messenger of Allah); We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!” But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein, so they will come to know!
Surah 37 As-Saffat Verses 167-170
Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “No wage do I ask of you for this (the Message of Islamic Monotheism), nor am I one of the Mutakallifun (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist). It (this Quran) is only a Reminder for all the Alamin (mankind and jinn and all that exists). And you shall certainly know the truth of it (Quran and what it speaks about the Hereafter) after a while”
Surah 38 Sad Verses 86-88
And verily, if you ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” Surely, they will say: “Allah (has created them)” Say: “Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allah — if Allah intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm? Or if He (Allah) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?” Say: “Sufficient for me is Allah; in Him those who trust (i.e., believers) must put their trust”. Say: (O Muhammad, pbuh) “O My people! Work according to your way, I am working (according to my way). Then you will come to know; To whom comes a disgracing torment, and on whom descends an everlasting torment”.
Surah 39 Az-Zumar Verses 38-40
Those who deny the Book (this Quran), and that with which We sent Our Messengers (message of Islamic Monotheism), they will come to know. When iron collars will be rounded over their necks, and the chains, they shall be dragged along; In the boiling water, then they will be burned in the Fire. Then it will be said to them: “Where are (all) those whom you used to join in worship as partners; Besides Allah?” They will say: “They have vanished from us: Nay, we did not invoke (worship) anything before” Thus Allah leads astray the disbelievers.
Surah 40 Ghafir Verses 70-74
And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: “Allah”. How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allah, Who created them)? (And Allah has the knowledge) of (Prophet Muhammad's) saying: “O my Lord! Verily, these are a people who believe not!” So, turn away from them (O Muhammad, pbuh), and say: Salam (peace)! But they will come to know.
Surah 43 Az-Zukhruf Verses 87-89
Or do those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy), think that Allah will not bring to light all their hidden ill-wills? Had We willed, We could have shown them to you, and you should have known them by their marks; but surely, you will know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows (all) your deeds.
Surah 47 Muhammad Verse 30
Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. And they said: “A man, alone among us - shall we follow him? Truly then we should be in error and distress (or madness)! Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!” Tomorrow they will come to know who is the liar, the insolent one!
Surah 54 Qamar Verses 23-26
He it is Who has made the earth subservient to you; so, walk in the paths thereof and eat of His provision. And to Him will be the Resurrection. Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, and then it should quake? Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven, will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning.
Surah 67 Al-Mulk Verses 15-17
But when they will see it (the torment on the Day of Resurrection) approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will change and turn black with sadness and in grief and it will be said (to them): “This is (the promise) which you were calling for!” Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “Tell me! If Allah destroys me, and those with me, or He bestows His Mercy on us - who can save the disbelievers from a painful torment?” Say: “He is the Most Gracious (Allah), in Him we believe, and in Him we put our trust. So, you will come to know who it is that is in manifest error”.
Surah 67 Al-Mulk Verses 27-29
Say (O Muhammad, pbuh): “None can protect me from Allah’s punishment (if I were to disobey Him), nor can I find refuge except in Him. (Mine is) but conveyance (of the truth) from Allah and His Messages, and whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then verily, for him is the Fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever”. Till, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who it is that is weaker concerning helpers and less important concerning numbers.
Surah 72 Al-Jinn Verses 22-24
- The background of this verse is that the Quraish as soon as they heard the Prophet’s invitation calling to Allah, they came under the delusion that they had a strong band at their back and that the Prophet (pbuh) had only a handful of men with him, and therefore, they would easily overwhelm him. At this it is being said: Today these people find the Messenger (pbuh) helpless and friendless and they themselves supported and strengthened by great hosts and, therefore, feel encouraged and emboldened to suppress the invitation to the truth. But when the final time with which they are being threatened comes (reference is to the Day of Judgement), they will know who in fact is helpless and friendless.
What are they asking (one another) about? About the great news, (i.e., Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad brought and the Day of Resurrection) About which they are in disagreement. Nay, they will come to know! Nay, again, they will come to know!
Surah 78 An-Naba Verses 1-5
When the sun shall be wound round and its light is lost and overthrown. And when the stars shall fall. And when the mountains shall be made to pass away; And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together. And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire (or shall overflow). And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies. And when the female (infant) buried alive shall be questioned: For what sin was she killed? And when the pages (of deeds) shall be laid open. And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; And when Hell-Fire shall be set ablaze. And when Paradise shall be brought near. (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil).
Surah 81 At-Takwir Verses 1-14
When the heaven shall be cleft asunder. And when the stars shall be fallen and scattered. And when the seas shall be burst forth. And when the graves shall be turned upside down (and bring out their contents). (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds).
Surah 82 Al-Infitar Verses 1-5
The mutual rivalry (for piling up of worldly things) diverts you; Until you visit the graves (i.e., till you die). Nay! You shall come to know! Again nay! You shall come to know! Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have been occupied yourselves in worldly things). Verily, you shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! Then on that Day you shall be asked about the delights (you indulged in this world)!
